Role Descriptions

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
Full-time, Permanent
Ridley Park, Pennsylvania

Here is what you will do:

  • Assist with the research, definition and documentation of new aircraft hardware and software system requirements to meet the needs of Boeing’s customers
  • Work closely with a team of senior engineers to learn about system design and development
  • Identify and understand how hardware and software modifications and additional requirements may impact mission systems
  • Modify and upgrade hardware and/or software designs based on system requirements
  • Document, generate, and maintain system requirements during the design and development process using the DOORS application

In performing this role, you will:

  • Have a post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering or a related field of study
  • Use your intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including ability to build Pivot Tables to analyze, manipulate and extract data
  • Apply a strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all activities
  • Use your ability to communicate clearly and concisely to synthesize information verbally and in writing
  • Be comfortable working independently and as part of a small team

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Python or comparable languages
  • Experience with Doors (Rational Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System) to capture, trace, analyze and manage information
  • Experience with Cameo or other visualization tools   

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS ENGINEER
Full-time, Permanent
Ridley Park, Pennsylvania

Here is what you will do:

  • Review and analyze collections of software system requirements from various internal business units
  • Review current documentation and based on available data determine a high-level technical approach for system modifications
  • Work within agile teams to create detailed documentation of new software system requirements and update technical changes using the DOORS application
  • Have an understanding of the functionality of new software additions and communicate design and development requirements to other team members 
  • Work with software test engineers to assist with the testing of new system changes and features to ensure alignment with overall mission systems

In performing this role, you will:

  • Have a post-secondary degree or diploma in an engineering, computer science or a related field of study
  • Apply your familiarity with technical writing to produce clear system software requirements 
  • Use your basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills to analyze, manipulate, and extract data
  • Use your PowerPoint skills to present findings to colleagues and senior managers
  • Apply a strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all activities
  • Be comfortable working independently as well as collaborating with team members

Nice to have:

  • Experience with programming languages and algorithm development
  • Knowledge or experience with Agile scrum methodologies

SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEER
Full-time, Permanent
Ridley Park, Pennsylvania

Here is what you will do:

  • Review and understand new aircraft software requirements to meet the needs of Boeing’s customers
  • Assist with the development and writing of software testing procedures to validate proper operation of new software implementations
  • Perform software testing through Boeing’s flight simulator to identify bugs using both manual and scripted tools
  • Work closely with software developers to address any programming errors and ensure proper software function
  • Participate in peer review sessions to update current processes and identify any design or programming flaws

In performing this role, you will:

  • Have a post-secondary degree or diploma in an engineering, computer science or similar discipline
  • Apply your familiarity with Python to perform software testing
  • Learn to interpret serial data and read hexadecimal values
  • Be comfortable working independently and within a small team environment
  • Use your ability to communicate with team members to resolve bugs or issues within the software

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals
  • Experience with C++, Java, or comparable languages

The Recruitment Process

Application

The first step in the recruitment process is for interested candidates to apply for the roles. This will involve completing an online questionnaire as well as submitting their resume to Specialisterne USA. Instructions for applying are included below. Applicants will be shortlisted for participation in the next step based on a review of each online questionnaire and assessing the likelihood of fit for the roles for which we are recruiting.

Employment Workshop

The next step in the Specialisterne recruitment process is an Employment Workshop. It is a hands-on, task-based experience where you will work on specific projects in a relaxed setting. It is an opportunity to learn about our approach to hiring, and for us to get to know you – what motivates you, your interests and your skills.

Training Program

Candidates whose profiles are well-suited for the roles for which we are recruiting will be invited to participate in a three-week skills evaluation and training program on the employer’s site. It will include case studies, real-life projects, as well as on-site training relevant to the roles and working environment.

Employment

Employment offers are made to the candidates with the best fit. Once accepted, the individuals will transition into their positions at the organization. Specialisterne USA will provide support where necessary, which may include modifications to the work environment.
